Scuba Schools International (SSI) recently unveiled two innovative Public Safety Diving programs at the 2023 DEMA Show, marking a significant advancement in diver training. The first program, SSI Public Safety Diving, is tailored for divers aspiring to join public safety dive teams. It emphasizes acquiring basic knowledge, skills, and fundamentals over a four-day certification course, ensuring safety and competence. The second program, SSI Rescue Team Diver, is designed for divers already part of a public safety team. This four-day course focuses on enhancing their skills to safely and effectively respond to in-water incidents, teaching methods like multiple search patterns and working in zero visibility conditions. Dive Rescue International (DRI), renowned for its expertise in Public Safety Diving, partnered with SSI to create these programs. Together, they aim to meet the global demand for highly skilled Public Safety Diving professionals, leveraging SSI’s digital learning platform and DRI's four decades of experience.
